FROM LEGACY INTEGRATIONS TO R&D
For 30 years, NuSil Technology has been the global leader in medical and space-grade silicones, advancing purity and quality standards while redefining expectations in customer care.
NuSil was born out of two especially demanding industries, medical implants and aerospace, each of
which requires the highest level of care.
One of the initial key findings from the discovery sessions was that NuSil’s IT department was highly constrained by their focus on support and platform maintenance, leaving very little time to enhance existing business workflows and implementing new business technologies.
In addition, new government regulations required NuSil to update their existing hazardous
materials and chemicals labeling platform within an aggressive timeframe.
ArkusNexus proposed an immediate action plan to address the time-sensitive regulatory compliance that new packaging and labeling tool, which enabled NuSil to correctly classify and communicate hazards through the use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels on their products.
After immediate tasks were taken care of, the team shifted from being an execution branch and into a more active role in roadmap definition and R&D by implementing Agile’s best practices which resulted in consistent deliverables, visibility and predictability across all projects being worked on.
Consistency, security, transparency and visibility is now part of business-as-usual at NUSIL with 2 development teams working on web-based applications and solutions that integrate existing legacy systems, while replacing outdated desktop applications.
